Dun & Bradstreet is a telemarketing company that collects commercial data and sells that data to businesses. Dun & Bradstreet have access to more 235 million companies in 200 countries. A pending class action lawsuit alleges that the company has violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. The purpose of the Act is to protect consumers from unsolicited telemarketing calls.
Under the TCPA telemarketers are not allowed to do any of the following:
• Calling numbers in the National Do Not Call Registry
• Calling numbers in the company’s own “do-not-call” list
• Using artificial or voice recordings to call residences.
• Make phone calls using automated telephone equipment, or artificial/prerecorded voices to emergency lines, hospitals, physician offices, cell phones, or any other service that charges you for the call.
