    Background<\/h5>\n

    Method cleaning products that are marketed as \u201cnatural\u201d may actually contain synthetic ingredients.\u00a0Because of the allegedly deceptive labels, Method was able to charge more and consumers paid a premium for what they believed to be natural products.\u00a0If the products turn out to be unnatural, it would mean that Method customers paid more for an essentially common product.<\/p>\n

    The cause for concern likely comes from Method\u2019s use of unnatural ingredients like sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS) and sodium coco sulfate.\u00a0Sodium lauryl sulfate is a synthetic detergent commonly used in personal hygiene products.\u00a0It is a known irritant.\u00a0According to The American College of Toxicology even low concentrations of SLS, as low as 0.5%, might result in harmful skin irritation. Higher concentrations can cause severe irritation and even corrosion of the skin. Sodium coco sulfate is marketed as a milder cleaning agent, when in reality it contains roughly 50% SLS.<\/p>\n
