Use of the concentrates increased the risk that dialysis patients would suffer\u00a0cardiac problems, heart attack, stroke, sudden cardiac death, and others serious\u00a0or fatal side effects.<\/p>\n<p>GranuFlo and NaturaLyte cause a rapid and unsafe elevation in bicarbonates in the body. Within 24-hours after receiving these dialysis concentrates, patients face\u00a0significantly increased risk of cardiopulmonary arrest. \u00a0The consequences can be fatal.<\/p>\n<p>In March of 2013,\u00a0a\u00a0recall was instituted because of the dangers to patients.
